Our Story
The story of Tropico is more than a journey of coffee, food, and beautiful spaces — it is a story of resilience, creativity, and the relentless spirit of building something unforgettable. Rooted in the vibrant energy of Indore, Tropico was created to become more than just a café. It was envisioned as a lifestyle destination where people could escape the rush of everyday life and experience a world built around connection, comfort, and culture.
The Beginning — April 2024
In April 2024, Tropico opened its very first doors in the bustling neighborhood of Vijay Nagar, Indore. Founded by Vijay Pratap Singh, the vision was clear from day one: create a space that felt different from anything the city had experienced before.
Inspired by tropical living and bohemian aesthetics, the café introduced an atmosphere that instantly stood out. Macramé décor, pampas grass, warm wooden textures, earthy tones, rattan furniture, lush greenery, and soft ambient lighting transformed the space into a sanctuary away from the chaos of city life.
Tropico quickly became more than just a café. It became a place where families gathered over comforting meals, friends spent hours sharing conversations, creators found inspiration, and professionals turned coffee meetings into meaningful collaborations. From handcrafted beverages and artisanal coffees to refreshing mojitos and gourmet platters, every experience was designed to feel memorable.
Within months, Tropico had established itself as one of Indore’s most loved lifestyle cafés — known not only for its food and drinks, but for the unique atmosphere it created.
The Challenge — May 2025
As Tropico’s popularity grew across Central India, so did its presence online and within the city’s cultural scene. Supported by a strong creative and marketing team, the brand became a recognizable name associated with aesthetics, quality, and community.
Then came the biggest challenge in Tropico’s journey.
In May 2025, due to a bureaucratic error, the original outlet faced an accidental demolition carried out by the Nagar Nigam Indore. In a matter of hours, the space that had become home to thousands of memories was reduced to rubble.
For many, this would have marked the end.
For Tropico, it became the beginning of a stronger chapter.
Driven by determination and an unwavering belief in the vision, founder Vijay Pratap Singh chose to rebuild immediately. Within weeks, Tropico rose again — reimagined with even more greenery, upgraded kitchens, refined interiors, and an atmosphere that captured the spirit of the brand more powerfully than ever before.
The rebuilding of Tropico became a symbol of resilience, proving that while structures can fall, passion and vision cannot be destroyed.
The Expansion — December 2025
After overcoming adversity, Tropico entered a new era of growth.
In December 2025, the brand expanded into the heart of Indore with the launch of its second outlet in Palasia, in partnership with Paras Wadhwani.
This new location elevated the Tropico experience even further. Blending premium dining with the signature bohemian charm the brand had become known for, the Palasia outlet introduced a larger, more immersive environment where luxury met comfort effortlessly.
With thoughtfully designed interiors, elevated culinary experiences, and the same warm atmosphere that defined the original café, Tropico Palasia quickly established itself as more than just another outlet — it became a landmark destination for the city.
The Future — 2026 and Beyond
Tropico continues to evolve with a vision focused on redefining social experiences for modern India.
With the upcoming launch in Rajendra Nagar, Tropico is introducing a completely new concept that combines lifestyle, leisure, food, and sport into one immersive destination.
The Rajendra Nagar experience will feature:
